Abstract

|
A lot of implant systems are used in Korea, and variable implant systems are used in a dental clinic. Occasionally it could happened that clinicians had to use different implant prosthetic components, not in his own clinic. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand about compatibility of prosthetic abutment between each implant system. Comparing of more than forty implant systems which are used in Korea, we got the following result. In external type, regular size is almost compatible but, mini and wide one is determined according to size of hexagon and diameter of the internal abutment screw. In internal 8?Morse taper internal connection type with 4.8mm platform prosthetic abutments are compatible according to the internal octagon. 11?taper internal connection type of implant is compatible with prosthetic abutments which have no hexagonal structure except for small one. We hope that this study about the compatibility of prosthetic abutment will help clinicians to select prosthetic abutments during implant prosthetic procedures.
